COPPA Children's Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 2026
This Children's Privacy Policy supplements our general Privacy Policy and describes how Seven Hills Iowa LLC handles information related to children under 13 on 7GenEdu.com. This policy complies with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), 15 U.S.C. §§ 6501–6506, and the FTC's amended COPPA Rule (16 C.F.R. Part 312), effective June 23, 2025, with compliance deadline April 22, 2026.
4.1 Commitment to Children's Privacy
7GenEdu provides educational printables designed for children ages 2–14. However, the Site is intended for use by adults (parents, guardians, and teachers) — not by children directly. We take children's privacy seriously and comply fully with COPPA requirements. We do not condition a child's access to content on the disclosure of more personal information than is reasonably necessary.
4.2 Information We Do NOT Collect from Children
We do not knowingly collect, use, or disclose personal information from children under 13. Specifically, we do not collect:
- Full name, home address, or phone number of any child.
- Email address or online contact information of any child.
- Social Security number or other government-issued identifiers.
- Geolocation data from children.
- Photographs, video, or audio recordings of children.
- Persistent identifiers (cookies, IP addresses, device IDs) used to track children across websites or online services.
- Biometric data of any kind from children.
- Any information that could be combined with the above to identify a specific child.
All accounts must be created by an adult (18+). Children do not interact with the Site directly — printables are downloaded by adults and provided to children offline.
4.3 How Children Access Content
Children access 7GenEdu content exclusively through parent or guardian accounts:
- Only adults (18+) may create accounts, subscribe, and download content.
- Printables are downloaded as PDF files by the adult and printed for the child.
- Children do not need to visit the Site, log in, or interact with any online features.
- No child-facing accounts, profiles, or interactive features exist on the Site.
4.4 Verifiable Parental Consent (VPC)
If we ever introduce features that would collect personal information from children under 13 (such as interactive tools, student accounts, or personalized recommendations), we will obtain verifiable parental consent before any data collection. Acceptable VPC methods include:
- Signed parental consent form submitted electronically or by mail.
- Credit card or other online payment transaction as verification of adult identity.
- Video conference with trained personnel to verify parental identity.
- Government-issued ID verification with subsequent deletion of the ID.
- Knowledge-based authentication questions.
- Any other method approved by the FTC under the amended COPPA Rule.
We will not condition a child's participation in any activity on providing more personal information than is reasonably necessary for that activity.
4.5 Parental Rights
Parents and legal guardians have the following rights under COPPA:
- Review: Request a review of any personal information we may have collected about their child.
- Delete: Request deletion of their child's personal information from our systems.
- Refuse: Refuse to allow any further collection or use of their child's information.
- Consent without disclosure: Consent to collection and use of information without consenting to its disclosure to third parties.
We will respond to verified parental requests within 48 hours. If we learn that we have inadvertently collected personal information from a child under 13 without verified parental consent, we will promptly delete the information and notify the parent or guardian if contact information is available.
4.6 Third-Party Data Collection
7GenEdu uses Google AdSense to display advertisements on the Site. For pages that may be accessed by or directed toward children:
- We tag all applicable ad units and pages as child-directed using AdSense's child-directed treatment settings.
- When child-directed treatment is enabled, Google does not serve personalized or interest-based ads.
- No behavioral tracking cookies or persistent identifiers are used for advertising purposes on child-directed content.
- We do not permit any third-party operator to collect personal information from children through our Site.
Parents who believe inappropriate ads have been displayed may report them to support@7genedu.com.
4.7 Data Security for Children's Information
We maintain reasonable security measures to protect the confidentiality, security, and integrity of any information related to children, including:
- Encryption of data in transit (TLS/SSL) and at rest.
- Access controls limiting employee access to children's data on a need-to-know basis.
- Regular security reviews and updates to our data protection practices.
- Prompt deletion of any inadvertently collected children's data.
4.8 Changes to This Policy
If we make material changes to how we collect, use, or disclose information from children under 13, we will:
- Provide direct notice to parents via email or prominent Site notice.
- Obtain new verifiable parental consent where required by the amended COPPA Rule.
- Not use previously collected information in a manner materially different from what was stated at the time of collection without new consent.
4.9 Safe Harbor
Seven Hills Iowa LLC is committed to compliance with COPPA and supports FTC-approved COPPA Safe Harbor programs. While we are not currently a member of a Safe Harbor program, we follow all substantive requirements of the COPPA Rule and welcome any FTC-approved self-regulatory program review of our practices.
